New York City

New York City has glorious bike lanes, bike routes and bike paths. A great place to start is the Manhattan Waterfront Greenway, which is 32 miles long and  encircles the Manhattan peninsula.

Its best part is the majestic Hudson River Greenway,  well-paved way,  and one of the most popular bikeways in the country. It runs from Dyckman Street (Inwood, near George Washington Bridge) to Battery Park, through Hudson River Park, Riverside Park and Chelsea. It has a delightful view of the waterfront.

Green Bay Road Trail, Chicago

According to the  magazine Bicycling, Chicago is one of the most bicycle friendly big cities. It has over 200 miles of nice, safe, new bike routes, bike paths and bike lanes with wonderful sights of the lake and suburbia, like the Chicago Lakefront Trail, 20 miles long, along Lake Michigan. Green Bay Road Trail is less smooth and even than Manhattan’s Hudson River Greenway.

Marin County, California

Mt. Evans, Colorado

Mt. Evans is part of the Rocky Mountains, it is in Clear Creek County, Colorado. Mt. Evans boasts the highest paved bike paths and bike routes of the United States, 14, 265 feet high. It starts out at Idaho Springs, running through Echo Lake. Biking here, you will also have a glorious view on Pikes Peak and Longs Peak, with the amazing Pikes Peak granite, snow-capped mountains, and endless forests.
